ACM Celebration of Women in Computing
Madrid, Spain, June 26-28, 2024

The 11th ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: womENcourage™ 2024, hosted at Escuela Politécnica Superior of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Open to all genders, this event is aimed at celebrating the role and impact of women in computing, and supporting participants at different stages in their STEM careers by offering an international, multisectoral, and multidisciplinary forum to share experience and knowledge, get constructive feedback, and promote meaningful networking.

EmpowerMINT-Preise

Studentinnen können sich mit ihrer Bachelor-/Masterarbeit selbst bewerben oder sie können von der betreuenden Person vorgeschlagen werden. Bewerbungsschluss ist der 01.05.2023

Durch die EmpowerMINT-Preise werden seit 2021 herausragende und innovative Bachelor- sowie Masterarbeiten von Studentinnen aus den MINT-Fächern ausgezeichnet. Mit dieser Initiative sollen Studentinnen in den Fächern in den Fokus gerückt werden, in denen sie an der CAU unterrepräsentiert sind. Das sind aktuell die Fächer Elektro- und Informationstechnik, (Wirtschafts-)Informatik, Materialwissenschaft, Physik, Mathematik, Chemie und der Bachelor Geowissenschaften. Durch die Auszeichnung und das Preisgeld soll ein deutlicher Anreiz für eine Fortsetzung der akademischen Karriere geschaffen werden. Die öffentliche Preisverleihung fördert die Sichtbarkeit der Preisträgerinnen.

The students may apply with their Bachelor or Master thesis themselves or can be suggested by their examiner. Application deadline is May 1, 2023

The EmpowerMINT-Awards recognise outstanding and innovative bachelor’s and master’s theses by female students in the STEM subjects since 2021. This initiative aims at bringing women in those STEM subjects into focus, where they are underrepresented at Kiel University. At the moment these are the subjects Electrical and Information Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and the Bachelor Geoscience. By means of this award and the accompanying prize money, we want to offer a significant incentive for the continuation of their academic career. Also by granting the promoted female students heightened visibility in the public award ceremony.
